The Clinical Dietitian coordinates medical nutrition therapy in the inpatient setting; assesses patients' nutrition risk, nutritional needs, and recommends appropriate nutrition intervention including enteral and parenteral nutrition; provides education to patients and their families/caretakers; documents using the Nutrition Care Process in the electronic medical record according to policy; acts as a professional resource, attends and participates in dept meetings and performance improvement.
Bachelor's Degree and completion of a dietetic internship program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). Dietitian-Nutritionist License with the Board of Dietetic Practice of the State of Maryland (must show proof of application if pending). Registered by the Commission of Dietetic Registration and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Minimum of 1-2 years as a Registered Dietitian preferred.
