Vision: Optimize the health and well-being of Marylanders through food and nutrition.

Mission: Empower members to be Maryland’s food and Nutrition leaders.

Members and prospective members value and utilize the Maryland Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (M.A.N.D. or “the Maryland Academy”) as the key to professional success.

 

The public recognizes, trusts, and chooses registered dietitians and licensed dietitians/nutritionists as the preferred food and nutrition experts.

STRATEGY
  1. Increase the Maryland Academy’s membership number and member involvement.
  2. Provide a variety of CPE and networking events both virtually and in a variety of locations across the state.
  3.  Utilize local advertising, website and social media to keep M.A.N.D. members and prospective members abreast of activities.
  4. Retain the trust of members and promote accountability of the Maryland Academy Board by maintaining transparency of Board actions and ensuring current practices align with guiding documents of M.A.N.D.

 
  1. Increase the visibility of RDs with the public.
  2. Work cooperatively with local organizations and associations to promote the RD as the food and nutrition expert.
  3. Strengthen relationships in the Public Policy arena.

The purpose of this site is to help our organization and its members fulfill its mission. MDA is an affiliate of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Members include Registered Dietitians (RD) and Dietetic Technicians, Registered (DTR). Many members are Licensed Dietitians-Nutritionists (LDN).
