Job Description
The Nutrition and Diabetes Education Center (NADEC), is a successful and busy private practice specializing in medical nutrition therapy and diabetes education and training. We are seeking an additional Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist to provide outpatient medical nutrition therapy in the following areas: Weight management, bariatric nutrition, heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, gastrointestinal disorders, eating disorders, and food allergies. Our current dietitian has a full caseload and is ready to hand over some clients. The position is for a part-time independent contractor and provides excellent compensation with the potential to grow. The candidate will be provided training and mentoring by a successful dietitian in private practice and must be self-motivated and have the desire to grow their client base. The candidate must have an interest and experience in wellness and prevention. However, if you have a specialty niche that you would like to grow, we highly recommend you apply, and we can help you bring clients in specific to that niche.
Minimum Qualifications
Requirements:
• Must be a Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist, minimum 1-year experience
• Hold Maryland State licensure in dietetics
• Active status through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
• Private practice or outpatient experience preferred
• Applicants must have the flexibility to work some weekday evenings and/or weekend
morning hours
• Hours could potentially be increased based on performance
• Active CPR certification
Desired Qualifications
Qualifications:
• Knowledge of menu planning and the latest medial nutrition therapy topics and trends.
• Strong written, verbal, and communication skills
• Places emphasis on customer service and patient satisfaction
• Has a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, basic familiarity with Word,
Outlook and PowerPoint presentations
• Self-starter who is flexible and needs minimal direction and follows through with
assigned tasks
• Compassionate and non-judgmental when treating clients
• Professional and approachable
