Minimum Qualifications

Responsible for the nutrition care management of assigned patients’ completing initial nutrition assessments, care plans, consults, monthly documentation annual and quarterly reviews as required.
Maintains and improves knowledge and skills for a competent and innovative practice.
Responsible for maintaining dietetic registration and continuing education hours as specified by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Responsible for participating in facility meetings-stand-up, QA, care plans as well as medical rounds as needed.
Participates in state and federal facility inspections as needed.
Responsible for upholding company and facility policies as delineated in policy and procedure manuals.
Develops nutrition related policies as needed.
Reviews results of patient satisfaction surveys.
Examines and act upon areas addressing nutrition care/practice that can be improved or changed.
Participates in continuous quality improvement activities.
Responsible for the completion of the comprehensive nutrition assessment within 72 hours of admission, and the completion of the initial care-plan within 48 hours of the admission.
Responsible for nutrition care management and collaborating with interdisciplinary team to obtain expected clinical outcomes.
Recommends appropriate feeding methods, enteral formula or feeding patterns.
Makes independent decisions pertaining to the dietary department without supervision from immediate supervisor.
Participate and weekly wound rounds with the nursing team.
Uses discretion and independent judgment as it relates to the dietary department in a timely and efficient manner.

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university in Nutrition and current license/certification in State of Maryland required. Minimum one (1) year experience in dietary and training and/or experience in a long-term care or sub-acute setting preferred.
Familiarity with dialysis and associated medical nutrition therapy, including fluid restrictions, diet restrictions, and interpretation of nutrition related labs
