Diabetes Treatment & Technology presented by Rachel Stahl, MS, RD, CDN, CDCES

In 2019, the American Diabetes Association (ADA) released their revised Nutrition Therapy Consensus Report. The session will equip RDs with evidence-based guidelines and tools to apply these guidelines into practice to improve patient outcomes. The session will also highlight several medications for diabetes treatment and the role of diabetes technology in clinical practice.

Innovative & Creative Ways to Reach Our Clients: Effectively Using Podcasts in Our Profession presented by Toni Toledo, MPH, RDN

We launched our podcast, PATH Positive Approaches To Health in 2018.  Our goal is to help listeners identify ways to live their healthiest life and thrive.  We do that by spotlighting interesting, creative and practical happenings that are going on around the US from a health and wellness perspective. We hope to empower and inspire our fellow RD colleagues to think outside the box and learn how to meet their patients in a unique way. We will share the nuts and bolts of starting a podcast and what it takes to get it off the ground and how to use it as a platform for delivering sound nutrition and behavior change information.  This will include identifying the inspiration and focus of the podcast theme, and help to explain the main steps to launch a podcast of your own.  As we head into the future, we need to employ innovative ways to reach our clients, patients and the population at-large with our voice and evidence-based approach to health.

The Maryland Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as a local affiliate of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is a Continuing Professional Education Units (CEU) Accredited Provider with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Registered dietitians (RDs) and dietetic technicians, registered (DTRs), will receive up to 7.5 CEUs for attendance. CEU Accreditation does not constitute endorsement by CDR of a provider, program, or materials.  A CEU certificate will be provided to all attendees.
