Minimum Qualifications

The Department of Correction and Rehabilitation is seeking to fill a Food Services Manager to oversee planning, directing and supervising the operation of three correctional food services facilities that operate 24/7 located in Boyds, Maryland and Rockville, Maryland.

Applicant will be responsible for independently planning and carrying out all responsibilities of a correctional food service system. The combined facilities prepare and serve approximately 3000 meals daily to an inmate population and correctional staff. The department has sixteen Correctional Dietary Officers within a unionized environment and two Correctional Dietary Supervisors who supervise the inmate workers.

Desired Qualifications

Duties include;

- Menu Planning;
- Ordering materials and food supplies;
- Budget, monitoring expenditures;
- Developing specifications for bids on food and materials needed;
- Managing food service and product contracts; and
- Maintaining various records for audit.

The individual selected for this position will be considered an "Essential Employee." Essential employees must report to work during periods of general emergency or liberal leave.
