How do I Become a Nutrition Professional?
What Nutrition Programs are availble in Maryland?

Can MAND help me find supervised practice opportunities?

The Maryland Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (MAND) is committed to our future and the training of RDNs and NDTRs and directs students to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' Preceptor database as the best resource for supervised practice opportunities.  The Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND®) has unveiled this database allowing practitioners to register to potentially become preceptors and join the effort to guide and educate the next generation of dietetic professionals. We encourage our RDN members to register at this site.  The Find-a-Preceptor Database allows program directors and students, who are members of the Academy, to search for a preceptor within a certain geographical or specialty area.  The preceptor database can be found here:  https://www.eatrightpro.org/acend/training-and-volunteer-opportunities/preceptors-and-mentors

We understand that it is sometimes difficult to find clinical preceptors in Maryland as most of the acute care facilities are supporting interns from the MD based college and university programs and/or those from the management company programs that operate the food and nutrition services at the facilities.  We encourage students to work directly with their distance learning program and ACEND if they need additional assistance finding opportunities.
